R & D Engineer (Power Supply Application - GaN) 
 
Job Description
 
  • Strong commitment and desire to enroll in 4yr Power Electronics PhD program. Collaborate with University and involves in R&D of GaN devices applications.
  • Design and develop reference design solution and demo boards according to customer's power supply specifications and market requirements.
  • Provide technical presentation and application support to customers contributing to business development.
  • Conduct marketing activity to research new applications for design feedback and to create new generations of IC products.
  • Perform power supply characteristic evaluation and collaborate with IC designers on new product development. 
 
Job Requirements

  • This scheme is only applicable to Singaporeans / PRs due to Government requirements.
  • MSc/MEng/ Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong expertise on AC/DC switch mode power supply application especially on power supply design, transformer design and demo board making.
  • Familiar with AC/DC switch mode power supply IC such as PWM, PFM or QR control type.
  • Experience in providing field support to customers and contribute to sales strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to build good rapport with team members, vendors and customers.
  • Advantageous for candidates with US/ EU/ Asia region customers support experience.
 
Successful candidate can look forward to be trained in the new area of GaN devices.  This will involve training in Japan for ~ 2 months period before enrolling for a 4-year PhD part time program in YR2014.  Work nature will involve 50% research collaboration with University and 50% actual customer application support.
