EEE Alumni Soccer Adventure 2012, NTU SRC Field, 31 March 2012
It was a fine day and EEE alumni gathered at NTU SRC field on 31 March, eagerly awaiting to play the first ever EEE Alumni soccer friendly match. The high-spirited players gathered and greeted each other. They were not dampened by an early morning rain and prepared to enjoy the game in each other’s company.
At 2 pm, 24 soccer enthusiasts turned up and were divided into 3 teams to start the ball rolling. They will be playing a friendly match against each other. Players and spectators enjoyed some fantastic goals scored but ultimately, score line is not of utmost importance. Most importantly, all the players enjoyed a Saturday’s afternoon game with its friendly and bonding element.
With the help of this event, EEE Alumni Association (EEEAA) was able to identify a few potential players that can be incorporated into the EEE Alumni Team, which will be formed in the near future. EEEAA is keenly looking at organizing frequent matches in the future, so that like-minded alumni can gather and share the fun.
At the end of the friendly matches, a sumptuous dinner was provided to all the players before proceeding to Jalan Besar Stadium to catch the Malaysian Super League (MSL). That was a match between LionsXII and T-Team. The match was almost a sell-out with the stadium crowded with supporters for the local team. The atmosphere was fantastic and the fans cheered for the LionsXII throughout the game. The game ended with LionsXII beating T-Team with 2-1 score, and climbed to the top of the league table.
It was indeed a memorable EEE Alumni Soccer Adventure. Enjoyable company, sumptuous food, completed with an exciting MSL match. Looking forward to the next EEEAA Soccer Adventure!
