Instructions and Notes on Course Registration

1.    SCHEDULE OF REGISTRATION

  1. Registration Period

    Students are reminded to register all the necessary courses during the registration day. Students who failed any course(s) in their last examination MUST also register their other courses (Core, Prescribed) during the registration day. Students who miss the registration day will need to wait until the "Add-Drop Period" before they can access STARS to register for their courses.

  2. Registration Period

    The Registration Date assigned to EEE Part-time students is given below.

  3. Add-Drop Period for Part-time B.Eng (EEE) Students

    The Add/Drop period for Semester 1 of Academic Year 2012-13 is as follows:

    Date : Monday, 13 Aug 2012 to Sunday, 19 Aug 2012 (Time : 10.00 AM to 10.00 PM)

    Students who drop a course after the end of Add/Drop period will be deemed to have sat and failed the course. A grade of 'F' will appear on the official transcript and zero mark will be used in the computation of marks for the classification of degree.

2.    OVERLOADING OF COURSES

The School has pre-approved the overload of 1 course for all the EEE part-time B.Eng Students on good academic standing. All Students who are not on Academic Warning or Academic Probation are to register overload course during the registration day. Students on Academic Warning or Academic Probation will NOT be allowed to overload. The School reserves the right to close any repeating class that has less than 8 students on the list.

Important Note : The School has granted maximum approval for students to overload their courses. It is your responsibility, as a student to ensure that the load you choose to register for is manageable. You must be confident of handling all the courses and be able to do well in the examinations. Students who choose to ignore this may find themselves performing very poorly at the examinations. This has very serious consequences. You could find yourself being placed on Academic Warning, Academic Probation or even Refused Re-admission to the University.

3.    PRE-REQUISITES

Students are reminded that if they have not passed a course that is a pre-requisite for a higher-level course, they must repeat the failed course on the next occasion it is offered. Please refer to "The Academic Unit System" handbook for more details. The link is:

4.    TIMETABLE & OTHER TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL REGISTRATION

Timetable
Students can access the EEE Timetable Server System found in the School's webpage, http://timetable.eee.ntu.edu.sg, for information on timetable, make-up classes etc.

5.    FINAL YEAR PROJECT

All the Year 4 and Year 5 students who are doing EE4079 (Final Year Project) do not need to register for this course. Students are advised to take note of the following when planning for their timetable:

The time slots given in the master timetable for EE4079 reminder that you are expected to spend a minimum of 3 hours a week in both semesters on your final year project. Students will need to arrange with their project partner and project supervisor(s) to work on the project.

6.    CHANGING OF TUTORIAL GROUPS

Please note that School does not entertain requests from students to change tutorial groups.

7.    PROBLEMS WITH REGISTRATION

If you have forgotten your PIN no., please visit the self-service PIN reset at http://www.ntu.edu.sg/studentlink/cits/pin/userguide_resetpin.htm. If you are still unable to login, please call Helpdesk at 6790 5228 for assistance.

8.    HELP AND ASSISTANCE

  1. Unable to Access STARS

    Students who are unable to access STARS during the registration day should call the Office of Academic Services at 6790 5117 for assistance. Please be informed that the granting of access to STARS is NOT under the purview of the School.

  2. System is Down

    If the system should go down during the registration day, please inform CITS and the Office of Academic Services immediately. Please note that this matter is beyond the School's purview.

  3. Other Sources of Help or Assistance
