NTU EEE’s Class of 2017: Tan Zhi Gang

Mr Tan Zhi Gang is graduating with NTU EEE’s Class of 2017, achieving a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) with first class honours. He is one of the two valedictorians for the graduating Class of 2017.

What are some of your expriences as a NTU EEE student?
Looking back, I am truly thankful that I was able to pursue my education in a world class university. The opportunities that NTU EEE have given to me are endless! As a graduate of NTU EEE, I am most certainly able to apply the skills and knowledge learned and integrate them into my working life. Furthermore, NTU EEE felt like a family to me indeed, where the professors, school staff and the students are ever willing to help one another! I fully believe that the bonds formed with others during my 3 years in NTU EEE will last beyond my undergraduate days.

What are your plans after graduating?
I will be working in Singapore Power (SP) Group under the Engineering Development for GraduatEs (EDGE) programme. Under the programme, SP Group aims to groom fresh engineers whereby we will undergo structured training and job rotation to critical operations, to gain broad-based exposure and diverse technical expertise.

What do you have to say to current and future undergrads?
Keep an ever open and curious mind in learning, don’t be easily discouraged by others, and believe in what you can do and achieve!
