NTU EEE graduating student, Mr Henrikus Theorizchy Cleven, is part of our Class of 2019! He is graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) with Honours (Highest Distinction). Henrikus is also an EEE Excellence Award winner, was on the Dean’s List 3 years in a row and went to the UK for a semester exchange. We find out more about this NTU EEE graduand’s experiences in the School!

What were some of your favourite activities in NTU EEE?
EEE provides lots of activities for the students to channel their academic and non-academic interest. Some of my favourite activities are Efinity (Freshmen Orientation Camp), EEE Club (Publicity and Publication), Seminars and Hands-on (i.e. MATLAB, Android, Raspberry Pi) crash-course given by IEEE NTU or EEE Clubs.

What do you like about NTU EEE?
NTU is one of the largest EEE schools in the world, and has always been ranked as one of the best of EEE schools in the world. NTU EEE has lots of dedicated professors and lecturers who are experts in their respective fields and equipped with decent laboratory and research facilities to support the learning. NTU EEE has structured their curriculums in such a way that it helps the students to have a strong foundation, while also giving flexibility for students to form their own combination.

What are some of your experiences as an NTU EEE student?
As an NTU EEE student, I am not only equipped with a holistic education that help me to prepare my future, but also provide me with opportunities to learn and grow. I got an opportunity to go for semester exchange to one of the best university in the UK, and have a meaningful internship experience with Intel Singapore.

What are some of your achievements while being an NTU EEE student?
While being an NTU EEE Student, I was an Accelerated Bachelor Program EEE graduate and won the Dean's List Award for 2016, 2017 and 2018. I also received the NTU President Scholar Award (Distinction), was a semi-finalist in Microsoft's Imagine Cup 2017 Competition and was the chairperson of NTU Student Union Welcome Week 2018.

What are your plans after graduating?

My current plan is to expose myself into Embedded System field for couple of years, before continue my study in the related field.

What do you have to say to current and future undergrads?

For current undergraduate, don’t be afraid to learn new things and fail at it. When failure happens, view it as a challenge. For future undergraduates, be prepared! Look at how NTU has advanced in the last 4 years. You will be transformed into a new person from the time you graduate high school to the time you walk across the stage at your class graduation in four years.
