Students’ performance during the project will be closely monitored and assessed according to a set of criteria. The assessment will contribute towards the overall examination results and is currently equivalent to 2 academic units in the Academic Units System.
The overall grade of each student in EE3080 consists of two components:
- Assessment by Supervisor;
- Assessment by Moderator;
Each student will be assessed continuously and individually by his/her project supervisors. The areas of assessment are:

- Oral Presentation
- Attendance and Participation
There will be at least 6 hours of DIP per week for 13 weeks. A timeslot 1.30pm - 4.30pm on every Wednesday is allocated to DIP. The other 3 hours are flexible and can be determined by project supervisor after discussing with students. Students need to sign in and sign out when they are doing their DIP in the allocated lab.
A moderator will conduct the assessment on each individual student according to the following areas
- Project Report
Regarding the project report, each student needs to write an individual report of 4 to 5 pages (excluding appendices) which is to be submitted to supervisor and moderator for assessment.
A group report about the entire project must be submitted to the project supervisor by group leader. The report need to be cohesive, instead of compilation of individual reports. In the report, students can address issues such as “teamwork and project management”.
