Martin Constable



Martin Constable received the B.A. degree in Fine Art from the Camberwell College, London, England, in 1986, and an M.A. in Visual Art from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London in 1990. He has taught painting, drawing, art history and studio practice at the Royal College, London, Goldsmiths’ College and Ruskin, Oxford. He currently teaches visual effects and digital painting in the School of Art Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
As a practicing artist he was winner of the prestigious Discerning Eye award in 1991 and has widely exhibited in Europe and Asia where he was the founding member of the artist collaborative Grieve Perspective. In NTU he has collaborated extensively with engineers in a variety of fields such as the visualisation of neurofeedback, computational aesthetics and the quantification of color contrast. He is an avid believer in the simple philosophy that problem solving is a transferable skill that can be applied to any field.
