A New Career in the Infocomm Industry

In the 2011/2012 annual review of the Singapore’s Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) master plan by IDA Singapore, it highlighted the need for increase in manpower expertise in the infocomm workforce and building a pipeline of infocomm talent for continue growth in Singapore’s infocomm industry. To meet these needs, the GDip-ICT provides a structured training programme for aspiring ICT professionals to acquire the necessary foundations and domain knowledge, and equipping them the know-how for a new career in the infocomm industry.

The Need to Train & Retrain

It was also highlighted in the IDA’s report that capabilities development in software development, system integration and IT consultancy are sub-segments for driving the infocomm industry productivity roadmap in Singapore. To meet these drivers for increased productivity, manpower training and retraining of working professionals are critical in keeping pace with the fast technological changes in the ICT industry. The GDip provides a formal training programme for building up the capability and enhancing the skill set of working professionals to stay relevant and succeed in a competitive global Internet economy.
