EEE Research Attachment Programme (ERAP)


The EEE Research Attachment Programme (ERAP) aims to provide experiential research platform for overseas undergraduates in 3rd or 4th year of study to pursue short-term research projects in the School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

Participants for this programme will gain a better understanding of our culture, access EEE cutting-edge research facilities, interact and work with Professors from broad and varied background with strong research and professional expertise as well as an opportunity to develop research interest. Through the ERAP, we hope that interns participating in the research attachment programme will have the intention and continue to pursue PhD study in EEE.

Candidates are expected to fulfill at least 3-month research attachment comprising Project work and English course (selective candidates) at the School of EEE, NTU. The ERAP award covers the tuition fees and a monthly allowance of $1,500. Hence, successful candidates shall receive an allowance of S$1,500 per month and up to S$9,000 for six months attachment. Candidates shall bear the travel expenses, housing expenses (off-campus accommodation), personal allowance and other expenses incurred during the attachment. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open only to ASEAN nationalities who are currently full-time students –i.e, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam

  • Applicants should possess good academic track records (High GPA).
  • Applicants in the 3rd or final year of studies of their Bachelor’s programme can be considered. Applicants should still be holding their student status during their internship, i.e. they have not graduated.

  • Applicants should be able to commit to a minimum attachment period of 3 months.


ERAP Award:


The ERAP grant is tenable only for the duration of the attachment at EEE. Each grant will cover the following:

  • Tuition fees (will be supported by school)

  • Monthly allowance of S$1,500

ERAP 2016 Application Period:

The application for ERAP 2016 is opened for application till end Aug 2016
ERAP Commencement and Attachment Period: 

Successful candidates can commence the ERAP 2016 within the window period from Jan 2016 to Dec 2016. Attachment period will range from 3 months attachment to maximum of 6 months attachment. Selective Interns will be scheduled to attend the English course (sponsored by EEE) up to 4 hours a week for a period of 10 weeks.

Application Outcome

Shortlisted candidates will receive an email on the list of EEE Supervisors and ERAP projects for selection.

Notes for International Students

International applicants are advised to look up important information such as, pre-departure checklist, immigration, accommodation, cost of living, emergency hotlines, insurance, etc at the International Student Support's website.

Accommodation (Off-Campus Accommodation)

Intern will be given a list of off-campus accomodation for him/her to source for accomodation.

Training Employment Pass (TEP)

Shortlisted candidates would require to complete the TEP application form.

All international students are required to obtain a valid Immigration Pass issued by Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in order to participate in the ERAP.

TEP application process and details will be released to successful candidates at a later stage. 

Certificate of Participation

All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the programme.
